Do you hire a cleaning service for your office, business, or home? Even if you hire a professional to clean your space on a regular basis, there are times when you will need to tidy up between cleaning visits. Below is a list of the top five cleaning products everyone should have on hand.
1. A trusty mop: I love the O’Cedar brand because it is durable, affordable, and available at most stores. My personal favorite is their old fashioned mop with bucket that has a feature that wrings, spins and rinses the mop all in one turn! It is pretty nifty, just rinse the mop head in the bucket with water and put in the wringer and use the foot petal to quickly wring it out. 2. Second on our list of cleaning products is Microfiber Cloths: Keeping a stack of microfiber cloths on hand isn’t just for wiping down your car after a good wash! These absorb wonderfully and are great for cleaning granite and quartz countertops. They also are useful for buffing stainless steel and nickel to a shine.
3. Dawn Dish Soap: Dawn has so many uses when cleaning a commercial or residential space, you can even use it on your laundry to pre-soak a stubborn stain before laundering! Here are a few things we clean on a regular basis with Dawn:
- Kitchen cabinets: Mix a few drops of Dawn with water in a spray bottle to clean the inside and outside of kitchen cabinets. The Dawn is a degreaser that cuts through the fingerprints and food splatters on the cabinets.
- Soap scum: Dawn works great for removing soap scum from shower walls, doors, and floors.
- Stainless steal appliances: You can also use a Dawn and water solution on your stainless steel appliances.
Just remember to avoid any towels or sponges with a rough or scratchy surface, you only want to use soft cloths on stainless steel to avoid scratching Clean your vinyl, tile, or wood floors with the Dawn and water solution – it works like a charm to cut through the dirt and grime of everyday walking on the floors.
4. Sprayway Brand Cleaners: Sprayway is a little pricier than Windex but it packs a punch! For people trying to cut down on chemicals in their cleaning, Sprayway Glass Cleaner is ammonia-free. I prefer the Sprayway Glass Cleaner and Sprayway Stainless Steel Cleaner. I haven’t had much luck with the Sprayway Multi-Purpose Cleaner however. Pro Tip: Purchase the aerosol bottle of Sprayway Glass Cleaner, the plastic spray bottle tends to malfunction. Read on for our favorite multi-purpose cleaners!
5. Mr. Clean Multi-Purpose Cleaner: Multi-purpose cleaners that are bought in bulk and diluted in water are a must have. For cleaning large floor areas (vinyl, tile, wood flooring) diluting Mr. Clean Multi-Purpose Cleaner in a prescribed amount of hot water and applying by mop is an easy way to get your floors sparkling clean. I think this particular brand has some great scents too!
The bottom line is, if you have these top five cleaning products on hand and some warm water, you can clean almost your entire office or home!
